Businesses today cannot operate effectively without access to the Internet, so when many different companies come together for an event, reliable WiFi is a must. Unfortunately, not all event organizers or venues offer free and, even if they do, it may be in restricted areas or of very poor quality. If being connected to the outside world is important to you, it’s wise to be prepared by setting up a WiFi connection for yourself. Dedicated booth WiFi not only ensures uninterrupted connectivity for your business, but it serves another significant purpose as well: lead generation.
How, you ask? If the WiFi at the event you’re attending is poor or, even worse, non-existent, your booth becomes one of the few places where other attendees can hop on the Internet. This is a very critical service you now offer, and it will likely draw people to your booth.
With this one simple step, you’ve already attracted footfall. The next step is capturing leads. Once attendees are in your booth, there are a variety of things you can do to promote your brand and get people interested in your services:
Electronic Device Rentals
In addition to offering free WiFi, you can use your booth to rent out tech devices to attendees who require something more powerful than a phone to access the Internet. Uploading these devices with splash pages that give basic information about your business, event specials, or other offers is a good way to quickly and efficiently introduce your brand to visitors. You can also arrange for access to printers and give away branded folders, notepads, and pens for people to take home.
Seating and Meeting Spaces
If you expect that your booth will attract a lot of visitors, you might want to provide a seating area where people can comfortably wait their turn to use your services. This gives you an opportunity to talk to the other attendees, network, and make connections that will last beyond the event. It’s an organic way to start conversations with others and tell them about your business without coming off as overtly salesy.
Charging Stations
Chargers and charging ports are often difficult to come by at events, so you can take advantage of this by offering access to charging stations at your booth. Equipping these stations with flyers or brochures containing information on the services you offer is a good way to engage people and get them curious about your business.
The tips above are great for capturing leads at your booth with little more than reliable access to WiFi. You need to keep in mind, however, that the goal is not to offer free access to WiFi or business services. It’s about creating opportunities for the people who come to your booth to engage with your brand.
